If you are of have been a fan of both series, this is an excellent game to purchase. If you are or have been a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in the past, this is a great game to purchase. If you are a fan or have been a fan of LEGOs in the past, this is a great game to purchase. In addition to entertaining LEGO fans and kids, it is also a highly fun and entertaining ride for mature gamers. The story is also told very well, as it is very funny to see LEGO's take on famous Pirates of the Caribbean moments.Īll-in-all LEGO Pirates is a great game. The graphics are solid, and actually look surprisingly good.

Most of the costumes are spot on with the movies, however a few are not as close to their movie counterparts as others (I'm looking your way Davy Jones). The characters are cute, as always, and somehow Tt games managed to capture Captain Jack Sparrow's signature walk and hand gestures. No more bland battles, as a sword fight in LEGO Pirates resembles, well an actual swordfight. As for the combat, this game's combat is tremendously better than the near MMO level of boring which was thge combat in LEGO Star Wars I and II. However, since it was not clearly said what was required, it made it immensely more difficult than it should be. For example, in one particular level it took me quite a long time to figure out a puzzle which simply required you to turn two handles.
However, sometimes these puzzles backfire as occassionaly they are nearly impossible to figure out, not because they are challenging however, just because a certain step was not clearly marked.
For instance instead of just blasting your way through most levels, LEGO Pirates has intricate puzzles which require thought, and relies more on creative level design than mindless combat. LEGO Pirates has many different gameplay changes from past LEGO games. After starting the first level, it becomes much, much more. At first glance, LEGO Pirates looks like just another kiddie attempt to bring yet another famous film franchise in LEGO form. This game is by far the best in that series. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game is one of the many games in the Tt games/LEGO series. Over 70 playable characters are included in total, with a "free play" mode allowing players to revisit their favorite scenes with their choice of heroes or villains. The action is once again viewed from a third-person perspective as up to two friends or family members work together on the same screen. As with previous titles in the LEGO series, you'll quickly assemble items throughout each area to reveal treasures, unlock secret areas, or to complete objectives. Over 20 whimsical levels are included as players guide "minifig" versions of Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann across locales based on Port Royal, Tortuga, Isla de Muerta, Shipwreck Cove, and Sparrow's ship, the Black Pearl.Ĭharacters will engage in lighthearted swordplay against soldiers, skeletons, and other enemies while solving puzzles and interacting with objects in the environment.
